Fox 5 News Came To Epstein, As They Warmly Welcomed New Families From New Orleans |
Faculty, staff, and students from The Epstein School have been very busy engaging in numerous efforts to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They began their massive school-wide activities to raise money, clothing, food, toiletries and medicine for the victims of Hurricane Katrina with a special prayer service for the victims led by Epstein 8th graders.

Now, they continue their efforts to help those in need, as they warmly welcomed new families who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Four families have arrived in Atlanta, and are now attending The Epstein School. The school is doing what they can to assist them in their transition.

Epstein parent, Nancy Rinzler who organized the school's tzedakah drive, arranged for a Home Depot cargo van to come to the school. Students from Epstein’s kindergarten and 5th grade helped load the van with supplies.
The Epstein School is also very proud that seasoned reporter, Mark Hyman from WAGA- Ch 5 Fox News, came to the school to see all of the wonderful things that they were doing to assist the victims. He also interviewed Middle School Principal Myrna Rubel, as well as some of their new students from New Orleans.
The school expressed its appreciation to Ch 5 Fox News for their recognition of the
school’s efforts, as they seek to remain leaders in giving back to the community. Recovery will be a long term effort for our country. As always, The Epstein School, will be there to help our fellow Americans and demonstrate the true spirit of tikkun olam, (repairing the world), and Derech Eretz (making the world a better place for all to live).
